Hi, I’m Kelly and this is my blog!
I am a thirty-two year old living in the Midwest with my family- my husband, daughter, and cat.
My husband and I met eleven years ago in college- we knew we wanted to get married within a few months of dating and we will be celebrating nine years of marriage in November of 2012!
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I taught at an urban high school for almost seven years. I loved teaching and I loved my “kids”. I learned more than I ever thought was possible at my job and I laughed every.single.day. However, I knew teaching wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I became pregnant in January of 2011 and my family had some decisions to make.
I gave birth to my daughter on September 30, 2011. On that day, my life was forever changed.
While on maternity leave, I knew it would be impossible to go back to my career and give one hundred percent to my “kids” while my daughter was left in the hands of a daycare provider. I decided to take the leap and become a stay-at-home mom. My husband works as an assistant district attorney in a large county in our state.
I love being a wife and mom and my other interests include running, baking, knitting, reading and finding ways to be as frugal as possible. My husband is the photographer in our family and he is kindly teaching me how to become more proficient at using our digital SLR. (I only wish I had taken the shot below!)
I love my life but after leaving teaching, I needed something to keep my mind stimulated. Many days, I don’t interact with adults until my husband gets home from work and although I am confident I could impress anyone with my renditions of the tunes from Lula’s Baby Einstein floor gym, a challenge was in order. Enter runmarun.com! It has made me excited in a way I haven’t felt in a long time. I hope you enjoy what you read here!
