Good morning and happy Monday!
Our weekend was wonderful. I hope that yours was too.
I had a sonogram appointment for Baby 2 on Friday morning and Pa and Lula were also in attendance. I was a little nervous right before we saw our baby but everything was just fine!
He or she was moving all over the place, the umbilical cord was perfectly placed so we couldn’t tell his/her sex if we wanted to, and there are some remarkable similarities to his/her and Lula’s sonogram.
It was a great way to start our weekend.
We had a fun, somewhat unexpected 2″ of snow on Friday night, which made for a very special Saturday morning run. I had been fighting a bug since Valentine’s Day so I ended up walking with Lula for a portion of the run while Pa got in a little extra solo mileage. It was fabulous.

I was able to enjoy the views, the crunch of the snow, and the special stillness after a snowfall. And everything was sparkly!
Lula enjoyed both playing in the snow and consuming a lot of snow once we wrapped up our run.
Yesterday the temperature shot up to 60 degrees so clearly, the snow is almost gone. Yes, this is a typical Kansas winter.
The temperature is supposed to drop, drop, drop all day today (it’s 50 degrees right now), so I may try to drag Lula outside in a few hours to take advantage of the warm weather while it’s still here.
Have a wonderful Monday and a wonderful week!

I very well remember the butterflies before an sonogram. I’m so happy to hear that things look wonderful- blessed indeed
Are you waiting to find out the sex?
Awwww, thanks Brittany! We are keeping it a surprise, which is what we did with L. I feel like it is a girl, but who knows!
I was going to ask the same thing as Brittany! I don’t know how you girls do it not finding out! I give you all props!! Just making it to 20 weeks kills me! I’m glad everything is going well with pregnancy #2. I feel like it’s totally girl season. Everyone I know is having a girl! My guess is GIRL
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Susan! Haha! In a weird way, I kind of like the suspense. I’m enjoying following your journey and look forward to hearing more!
It’s so refreshing to read someone who actually likes the snowfall. Who likes the crispness of snow.
Glad everything is good with regards to baby no 2
Thanks, Marleen! We are supposed to get more snow tomorrow! I am excited!
