Welcome and thank you for stopping by! It’s been awhile since I’ve “linked up”. Thanks, as always, to Brittany. I am looking forward to seeing what other mamas are feeding their young ‘uns.
For reference, Lula is 16 months old.
Breakfast:
one scrambled egg with a dash of milk
oat cereal (half iron-fortified mixed with half regular oats) + spinach, orange juice, yogurt, mixed berry smoothie
a glass of whole milk
Taco “Shili” or “Choup” (recipe here)
two glasses of whole milk (this varies)
a few strawberries
a few bites of banana bread with peanut butter
Dinner:
green bean puree mixed with oat cereal
cheddar cheese chunks
one glass of whole milk
Lula always polishes off breakfast and dinner. Lunchtime is frequently hit or miss. Some days she can’t get enough food, other days she has little interest in what is in front of her. Unless it is candy or cookies, of course!
Edited to add: Lula probably drinks between 20-24 oz of whole milk per day. Additionally, she is still nursing three times a day but since I’m closing in on 5 months of pregnancy, I don’t think she is getting much.
Have a wonderful day!

I’m jealous you can get her to eat veggies!!!!
Well, she’s not 2 and a half yet either!
It’s so interesting that kiddos can survive on so little food!
I am happy to hear my little one is totally normal when he decides he doesn’t want to eat much for a particular meal. Is L using utencils yet? The ped told us to be working with P on them but so far we have only done a spoon with yogurt. Good thing it was bath night. Yikes, what a mess that was! Mike thinks maybe P is bored with the same old food. Breakfast and lunch do tend to be repetitive but he has also taken an aversion to food cut a certain way. He won’t touch cooked carrots in small cubes but give him a fry shape carrot and he goes to town. So odd these little ones!
I’m jealous to hear mom’s are getting kids to eat food in fry form. I tried sweet potato “fries” with H the other day (her old favorite!!) and she wanted nothing to do with them. Sigh.
How many ounces of milk is Lula drinking a day? I saw you wrote 2 glasses with lunch. Any idea of total ounces?
Thanks so much for linking up and sharing
Too funny! Much like the stages of childhood, I find myself constantly shocked when L refuses something that she seemingly LOVED the day before!
Thanks for the question about the milk- I updated my post. I measured the cup we use and she probably drinks about 20-24 ounces a day? She usually drinks more at lunch when she’s had peanut butter or something else that triggers her thirst. Works for me!
Thanks for such an awesome link-up. It feels good to be part of it again and it’s a fun community!
Happy Thursday!
Ummm, I have been pretty lazy with her using utensils, mainly because well…I’m lazy. You mentioning that makes me think I need to get going. I did enjoy that Twitter picture of P with his hand in the yogurt container. So cute! Mike is probably on to something and it does seem when I offer a new lunch and then revert back to our “old ways” the following day, she seems more responsive to eating it since she had a break? Who knows.
Oh my, food aversions when things are cut a certain way? Were we like this as toddlers?
I love your bowls! She’s doing so great. And congrats on your pregnancy- I don’t think I’ve told you that yet!!
Awwww, thanks Laura! I still forget about it sometimes!
It looks like Lula is a good little eater! I love to hear that you are still nursing too! I also am pregnant (and due in July!) and wonder regularly if I am making enough milk for my son! I read that some women lose most of their supply but others are able to keep it up throughout pregnancy. Do you think you will continue to nurse her throughout your whole pregnancy?
Hi Casey, thanks for stopping by! Congratulations to you! It’s nice to “know” someone else who is due around the same time as me. I thought I saw a cute little bump in one of the pictures on your blog!
I read the same thing about pregnant mamas who are nursing. I think L is definitely doing it for comfort although she did delatch abruptly the other day and I spotted some milk. I was surprised!
I am not planning on nursing her for the whole pregnancy. If I wasn’t pregnant, I would probably start weaning at 18 months so that is likely what I will end up doing. I have no desire to tandem nurse. I think it’s really cool, just not for me. What about you?
