Good morning!
Yesterday was one of those days that everyone deserves to be gifted with in January, no matter where you live. The temperature slowly rose Sunday night into Monday until it got to about 75 degrees.
It was fairly muggy, gusty winds lasted for much of the afternoon, and it was one of those days that made me feel hopeful and content, almost like a kid again.
I was able to hang laundry outdoors, open the house to fresh air, and even walk barefoot (once I cleaned the floors). Overall I just felt more cheerful because the weather was so cheerful.
Lula and I went to the park and played for awhile and did she ever make a mess. I’m much better about rolling with the dirt she accumulates and even have a system in place which consists of bringing a wet rag with me so I can clean up her hands before we head home.
Overnight, gone was the obligatory down comforter and in it’s place? Just a sheet. It felt glorious to wake up this morning and feel as though spring arrived.
During my treadmill run this morning, the temperature gauge read 70 degrees (a far cry from last week’s reading of 50), but as my run continued, I could feel–and see–the temperature drop as the winds shifted and a cold front arrived.
I am very lucky to be spoiled with these little tastes of spring. Days like yesterday remind me that the real thing is not that far away. February is almost here, after all.
Happy Tuesday!
It’s supposed to be 70 here today and we are going to possibly spend the entire day outside. I’ve missed this weather!!
YAY for your weather! I am usually sadder in the winter months, being a VT/MN girl for so many years but now that I have L, warm winters are starting to become my preference. I hope you had a wonderful day out of doors!
Yeah, that’s not so much the case here
30ish degrees, cloudy and gloomy, windy and a chance of snow in the forecast. Hopefully that groundhog will tell us some good news on Saturday.
Sadness! I will be crossing my fingers for you…we are back to the 30s today and snow is expected tonight if that makes you feel any better…
I’m going to have to stop reading your blog soon…you’re making me too jealous! The last two days here were in the 50′s, but alas, a winter storm is on its way again!
Glad you got a break, but BOO to a winter storm. We are expecting some snow here overnight into tomorrow so our 75 degrees was certainly short-lived.
We hit mid-60′s here in Ohio yesterday. We did some shopping and hit up a park. I would have loved to get an outside run in, but the hubby had to work late.
I’m glad you guys got a little taste of spring too, that’s awesome. The park is really the best. I love knowing how much exercise L gets while we are there and it usually translates into deeper sleep at night.
Wow! That’s great weather
Great weather do make anyone feel chirpy
