Goodness! A busy weekend around here- since not much exciting happened around here this weekend, I thought I would do another one of these posts. I love reading other people’s schedules and I always get ideas as to what I can do to entertain my little bundle of joy!
5:10- my alarm goes off, I head into Lula’s nursery, feed her and put her back in her crib. She is usually awake for half an hour which consists of her playing and thrashing her legs up and down on her mattress
5:40- down on the treadmill for a 4 mile run
this is how I stay sane during treadmill runs:
Yes, that is an episode of My So-Called Life- an amazing show that is still relevant today although happily, the grunge look has faded.
6:20- hop in the shower
6:50- Pa gets Lula up for the day, I enjoy a cup of coffee
7:05- see Pa off, chat with the neighbors
7:15- feed our kitty, carry Lula around for awhile, start a load of laundry
7:25- realize I am out of my zucchini muffins (the horror) so I make a batch of them while Lula looks on
7:40- Lula gets bored as I am finishing the dishes so it’s time to nurse
7:48- all done! She is extremely efficient these days
7:50- the laundry is done so I load it up and Lula and I hang it outdoors
8:10- I get a muffin to eat while Lula plays on the floor- I can tell she is getting testy and a little cranky so I eat quickly as I know this won’t last long
8:25- I notice Lula is starting to rub her eyes and pull her ear so I change her diaper and we start making our way back to her nursery
8:30- I nurse her for about 7 minutes and sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and You Are My Sunshine, turn on her glowworm and place her in her crib
8:40- I know she isn’t asleep yet so I take advantage by sweeping the floors, broiling some tofu,
making some brown rice, brushing my teeth and making our bed
9:00- I hear her play in her crib for awhile and she fusses briefly but then falls asleep. I get on the computer and blog, look at Twitter and read blog posts, eat some snacks, organize my shopping list and coupons,
do a little reading, flip some of the laundry over, keep blogging and watch some of Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1- I am not embarrassed that I was watching it but I did feel some embarrassment for the actors/actresses in certain parts of the movie- a teenager I am not.
11:00- she’s up and playing in her crib!
I change a very soaked diaper, change her outfit, feed her and get ready for our outing
11:30- we head to the local library to sign up for a race- it is challenging trying to fill out forms while entertaining a baby!
11:45- we head to Wal-Mart to buy the essentials. Lula is angry during parts of the car ride there until I pass her a toy- turns out she dropped the first one I gave her
12:05- Wal-Mart trip- Lula has a fantastic time and babbles for most of our excursion
1:00- we take off for home and although I try to keep her up, she ends up snoozing for the last ten minutes of the drive
1:30- start heating my veggies for lunch, change Lula’s diaper, down some water, feed her and finish making lunch
2:00- eat lunch,
call my sister and chat, put away groceries
2:45- discover that Lula’s getting a tooth on top too! Whoohoo!
3:00- head out to the garden to do some weeding, worry that Lula is getting too hot
3:25- notice she is rubbing her eyes, decide to head inside and see if she wants to take a quick nap or at the very least, chill in the crib
3:35- I sing a few songs and put her in her crib- she seems happy for a bit and then gets really upset
3:40- I recognize this nap ain’t going to happen so I head into her room to get her up and we walk around for awhile and then vacuum the house with her in the Baby Bjorn carrier (she loves this thing!)
4:00- she is in a great spot so I set her on the floor to play while I escape to a book for a while
4:30- I sneak outside to get the laundry off the line, come back in and feed her, we put the laundry away
5:00- Pa texts that he in on his way home, I head into the kitchen to finish cleaning it and putting groceries away, Lula sits in the Bjorn Balance, I make Pa’s lunch for the next day
5:35- Pa is home! We catch up on each others day, we get into comfy clothes, and he and Lula play on the couch for awhile
6:05- she is getting fussy, I take her and we play on the floor together reading books and investigating measuring cups, etc.
6:35- dinner part I- rice cereal mixed with breast milk tonight, then she gets into her double diaper and jammies
6:45- dinner part II- I nurse her in her room, she conks out in about five minutes
6:50- she is down for the night
7-9:30- Me and Pa’s time- we browse the Internet, enjoy time on the deck, eat dinner and watch some TV
9:35- we head into Lula’s room to top her off with one more feeding- her diaper is wet and so are her jammies so Pa changes her quickly while she gives a very tired little cry, then I nurse her until she is pretty much asleep again
9:50- everyone is in bed, it’s lights out around here!

Love her little flip flops in the cart picture. where did you get them? (as if cassidy needs more shoes, haha). I can’t imagine waking up at 510, kudos to you! I wish I could get up and workout before Cassidy wakes up but i would have to wear like 10 sports bras and it would be way too painful until after I nursed (since I dont for 13 hours while she sleeps).
I got them at Carter’s about a month ago? She LOVES to chew on them! I don’t blame you for waiting for Cassidy to wake up before you work out and hey, you look amazing so you are clearly doing what you need to do!
Thank you for sharing your day’s routine with us. It’s so interesting to read. Very much interesting than my working life most of the day – I envy SAHM. You have such an interesting life and the time you have with your kid. Wish I could have done that.
Anyway, love that you and hubby have “together time” at 19h00 with dinner and on the deck.
I’m glad you enjoyed reading about it! Your life sounds very interesting to me and you have some AMAZING places to travel to! Let me tell you, that together time is extremely important!
Isn’t it amazing how much happens in a day when you write it all down? I need to write it down more often because it helps me feel more accomplished
I can’t believe Lula is getting a top tooth!! Exciting
