Our Garden Part VI

Whoa, the garden has gone NUTS since the last time I posted photos!

yesterday

I am having a hard time believing how quickly plants get going!  Of course, steady sun all day long certainly helps!

Lula and I went out to the garden yesterday morning to capture some close ups.

I couldn’t resist this piece of perfection…from our wildflower patch!

The peppers are getting tallerand some blossoms have already turned into baby peppers! Our leafy greens are probably in their prime right now…many salads and some kale chips have already been enjoyed!

The onions seem to be holding their ownand Pa actually cut some of the squash leaves back to allow more sunlight to beat down on them.

Speaking of squash,I love squash blossoms!  They are so pretty in the morning and the zucchini are going nuts!

Butternut take longer to come in so not much is happening there but the yellow squash are also doing well. The corn has taken off even with a late start since the first batch didn’t take!I am loving these peas and as far as I can tell, they are doing well without a fence…so far.

My favorite photograph of the morning…The carrots are barely visible under the dominant turnips! The broccoli are huge but something is missing…there isn’t a crown!  The next plant over however…one is slowly making its way upwards.  I have no idea why the crowns are so reluctant to show themselves!

The tomatoes are blossoming earlier than usual– I think. And there are signs of fruit here too! Some of my cilantro is already flowering and this plant is clearly going to seed.

And finally, although a weed-ridden area which we are going to till under next spring, I give you basil!

  1. WOWza! Your garden is amazing. Send some of those leafy green my way!! ;)

Cilantro is definitely one I’ve found I have to cut back often because it shoots up so quickly.

And I loved the broccoli. I ‘ll have to rememeber to add that to next year’s garden.
